Mental Health
Our Mental Health Solicitors have a wealth of experience and expertise. All members of our team are members of the Law Society’s Mental Health Accreditation Scheme, so you can be reassured of their understanding, knowledge and commitment to this area of law. Mental Health issues can occur at any point in our lives, and to anyone. It can be very distressing for the individual concerned and for those who are close to them. Often accessing the correct support can be a challenge and the law in this area can be very complicated to navigate.
At Alfred Newton Solicitors, we specialise in protecting the legal rights and liberties of those who are compulsorily detained under the Mental Health Act (1983). Those detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) are eligible for free independent legal advice and assistance. This includes being represented at a tribunal hearing. We can represent patients or nearest relatives at Mental Health Reviews, Tribunals and Managers Meetings. Not only do we offer assistance, we can also challenge decisions and make appeals where appropriate.
At Alfred Newton we strive to be available at short notice and offer the highest standard of advice and representation at what can be a very challenging time. For more information or to discuss your requirements please contact us on 0161 480 6551.
